Wallace PM was appointed as the Project Manager and Superintendent for the design and construction of a new local neighborhood shopping centre located on the corner of Dandaragan Drive and Bailey Boulevard in Dawesville, Western Australia.
The Shopping Centre is anchored by a full line Coles Supermarket (circa 3,500m2) together with a Liquorland, eight (8) specialty retail / food and beverage tenancies (circa 600m2), two (2) pad sites for a future gym and childcare and ancillary carparking, loading docks, drive through Click and Collect and high quality landscaping.
This development was vital in improving access to essential services for the local community and stimulating economic and employment growth, as a response to the declared ‘State of Emergency’ associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Development Approval was sought from the WA Planning Commission (WAPC) via the newly implemented (at the time) State Development Assessment Unit (SDAU) and was one of the first handful of projects to seek Development Approval via this process.
Despite initial opposition from the Local Government, Wallace PM worked with the design team, Client and the SDAU to ultimately negotiate a high quality design outcome that was satisfactory to all parties, including the Local Government.
Wallace PM’s role involved obtaining Development Approval, Contractor procurement, contract negotiations and working with the D&C Contractor to complete the design and manage construction.
We have sucessfully delivered on projects across Australia.
